You had a great conversation with a brand.
They were interested.
Then… nothing.
This happens all the time.
And most creators make one of two mistakes:
- they follow up too aggressively
- or they never follow up at all
Both cost you deals.
Why brands go quiet
First, understand this:
Silence does not always mean no.
Instead, it usually means:
- priorities shifted
- approvals are pending
- budgets are being reviewed
- your message got buried
Brand teams are busy.
So don’t take it personally.
When to follow up
Timing matters.
Wait 5 to 7 business days after your last message.
Not two days.
Not the next morning.
Then send your first follow-up.
If there’s still no response:
👉 Wait another full week
Then send one final message.
Two follow-ups total.
That’s it.
After that…
👉 Move on
What to say in your first follow-up
Subject: Following Up — [Your Name] x [Brand Name]
Hi [Name],
Just wanted to circle back on my previous message in case it got buried.
I’d still love to explore working together if the timing is right.
Happy to answer any questions or jump on a quick call.
Let me know either way.

What to say in your final follow-up
Subject: Last Note — [Your Name] x [Brand Name]
Hi [Name],
Sending one last message in case the timing wasn’t right before.
If things open up down the road, I’d genuinely love to connect.
I’ll keep an eye on what you’re doing in the meantime.
Best of luck with everything.

Clean.
Professional.
No pressure.
What not to do
Do not:
- send multiple messages in a few days
- show frustration
- get emotional
- complain publicly
Because your professionalism…
👉 is part of your brand
